Today's a Bad Day

Today has been a long day. During a grueling day at work, I learned that Amy's grandmother had been admitted into the hospital. She has not been feeling good all week and the doctor felt that she was dehydrated and needed to run some tests. I got in touch with Amy to tell her the news and she went straight to the hospital. After work, I headed there as well. She seemed to be doing better after receiving some IV fluids and oxygen. Amy and I went and had a nice dinner with my mother-in-law, Norma.

After dinner it was time to come home and give the 3 shots. Amy has not been feeling good this week and has been very uncomfortable. Tonight, I got through the first 2 shots and Amy started crying because she is tired of the shots and is frustrated that we have to go through this process. I could really tell that they were hurting her tonight and felt so bad for her. We got the last shot taken care of so we can move on until tomorrow. I took her to get a snow cone after her shots, and she felt better.

Today, I am thankful for Amy's grandmother and the close proximity to us. Today's song of the day is "You are The Best Thing" by Ray Lamontagne. It is my favorite song of his and reminds me of Amy every time I hear it.

Right on Track

We had a doctor's appointment this morning to make sure everything was going in the right direction. We (or should I say Amy) is right on track. Tomorrow the shots are increased to three per night. It is hard to believe, but exciting, that all of this is happening again. I feel so bad for Amy. The medicines have caused her to swell and she is so uncomfortable. It will all be worth it though.

After grudging through the work day, we had a nice dinner with our friends Scott and Neilly. They had us over for dinner, and it was great. Because they live close, we were able to take tonight's shot with us and it stayed cool until 8:00. Now, that the shots will be increased to three I don't think we will be able to get away from the house transporting the shots. Today, I am thankful for my wife's selflessness. She endures so much to give us this chance. She is pretty amazing to say the least! Today's song is "Take me to the River" by Al Green. It is one of those songs that you can listen to over and over without it getting old.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Well, today is my mother's 61st birthday! Usually, we have a lunch or dinner with friends and/or family, but my grandmother is not well. This year, mom elected to go to lunch and a movie. Why is it every time I wear white I spill something that could easily permanently stain on me? Anywho... we went to lunch and then saw The Proposal. It was really cute. My husband went with us too. That is what I am thankful for today. I am thankful that my mother and husband get along so well to the point where he enjoys hanging out with just me and my mom. Today, the song that makes me smile is "Beat It" by Michael Jackson. Why? Because my mother explained to my husband and I on the way to lunch that "Beat It" is her favorite Michael Jackson song from the Thriller album. Also, she educated us on the fact that 7 of the 9 songs on that album went platinum! Here is her birthday picture. We really look nothing alike... The Lithuanian really shows in my mom, I am definitely a Thomas! Well, anyway, HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Before mom's birthday, we went to church with a childhood friend of mine, Kara, and her family. It was a very small Church of Christ church, and the members were so friendly. It was a lovely church. I think that we miss instruments, though! Tomorrow is our big "baseline" ultrasound. It will tell us how far along I am in building my uterine wall (gross, I know) and what dosage of hormones they want to put me on. Today, when I was reviewing our calendar, we noticed that we are only 2 weeks away from retrieval. That is crazy. I cannot believe it is right around the corner! I also found out that my Aunt Jan and Barb are coming in from Chicago July 24th. Perfect timing! Hopefully we are celebrating a positive pregnancy test! My results will be sometime between the 24th and 26th! Also, our friends Amy & Dave are coming in to celebrate that weekend with us! Yea! Surrounded by great people! Have a great Monday! ~Amy

Sunburned and Exhausted!

So today hit 101... no big deal, except for it is the day that we decided to do yard work and do some landscaping projects. Really. What, or should I say who, am I thankful for today? Willis Haviland Carrier. For those who do not recognize this person, he is the man that invented air conditioning. Bless him.

Our day started out at the Farmers Market. OSU/OKC was pretty good, however, the selection was slim. I think it is still a little early. We then went to the original downtown Farmers Market, but it was mainly Mexican products and pinatas. I know where to go for my next fiesta! Then, we went to have breakfast at Classen Grill. For those who haven't been, go-go-go! It is wonderful! It started off being a really cute and fun day! Then my husband thought we should go to some rock place in downtown to look for stones for our flower beds. While we were there, we went to Cow-town for my mother's gift, no luck. Anyway, we bought some stones and then got to work. 5 hours in the 100+ weather, this is what we ended up with:

Needless to say, we are sunburned and exhausted. After we were done, we went to *of course* the snow cone stand and my husband got Spiderman. It really was delicious. It was a sweet moment because when he was finished with it, his lips and teeth were purplish/blue and he was so happy. I thought to myself, I want our sons to be just like you. Debby, if you are reading this, THANK YOU for raising an amazing man.

The song, that has to be on my mind today is "Heatwave" by the Supremes... I think it is fitting! ~Amy

Funky Monkey

Have I mentioned that I love snow cones? After having dinner with our friend, Ed, I took him to my favorite spot (the snow cone stand) and had Funky Monkey. It was delicious. I am pretty sure it was a mix of peach and banana. Soon, I will be a connoisseur...

Today was a good day. Hot, but good. My office is mourning the loss of Michael. I am pretty sad as well. I remember the Thriller poster that I had above my bed as a small child and how I would kiss it before bed and tell Michael I loved him. He was such a lost soul. My husband and I are preparing ourselves for "Hades Day" tomorrow. We plan to do a TON of yard work. Sure, the morning sounds like a good time, but we have errands that have to get done in the morning. For instance, we are going to the OSU/OKC Farmers Market. I am choosing to go there over the Edmond one, because when I went there 2 weeks ago, there were produce stickers on the fruit and vegetables. I choose to support local, homegrown products! What am I thankful for today? The ability to be able to buy organic products without chemicals!!! Then, we have to go to "Cow-town" (Lord, help me) to find my mother's birthday gift. Sure, I bet you are confused... My mom and Cow-town, do not mix. There is a Native American jeweler down there who "allegedly" has a red coral necklace. We will see. I did find one at a local OKC jeweler, but it was over $1000. I love my mom, but my pocketbook doesn't love that! The song that made me smile today is "Right as Rain" by Adele because it is wonderful. It calms me!

After having dinner, and a snow cone with Ed, he came over and we got on Facebook to look at things. Luckily, he remembered my shot at 8 o'clock on the dot. Yeah. 1st time this week! Ed helped us decide that we liked our new office curtains, and then decided to drive back to Norman. We will probably go to bed now, because the 100+ weather will surely wear us out!

What a Sad Day, Michael's Dead and I am Bloated...

Can you believe this? First Farrah and then Michael! Here is what is sad, and not that the publicity really matters, but now that MJ is gone, it seems like the nation forgot about the blond Charlie's Angel that made that signature hair style so famous! So young, both of them! I wish their families peace.

So besides all of that, today has been pretty relaxing. We went to an Essential Oil presentation. It truly is amazing. The couple that hosted it are both 75, and not on a single medication! They are so active and healthy. These oils were used in biblical times, and are meant to maintain healthiness. I think we are hooked. On the way home, we stopped by and got a snow cone. Hi, my name is Amy and I am a snow cone addict. Seriously. Jeff, I blame you for this. My husband's friend Jeff introduced me to the snow cone stand in Edmond, that is so delicious, and I can't stop. I will eat veggies and fruit for dinner to consume calories in snow cone syrup. Sick, isn't it? Today, I am thankful for the person whom created snow cones.

Anywho... the shots are making my skin get a little sensitive. Not that I can't handle it, at least I have not had headaches! Here is what is happening though, I am BLOATED! Not just a little, tremendously bloated. Pants that I buttoned Tuesday, I cannot even button. Not real fun when it is 103 degrees. I might wear knit pants to work tomorrow. Thank you, Brad Henry, for letting Friday be casual days. Usually it is jeans, but hmm... Heat + bloat + denim? Not so sure about that! Monday is my ultrasound and Tuesday starts hormones! I cannot believe that part of it is already here. Do you realize I will know if I am pregnant in less than 35 days? INSANE!

What song is my song today? Obviously it is a song from the King of Pop, so I will go with my favorite. P.Y.T. Great, great song! ~Amy

Whoops

Well, today came and went, and it is still hot. How do I know it is way too hot, three reasons. First, it is hard to do anything outside because the heat takes everything out of you. Second, we got our electric bill and it was over $200. It is definitely time to make the move to average billing. Lastly, the air conditioner cannot keep pace with the heat to cool off the house. During the day, we run our air conditioner on 75. When we got home at 7:30 tonight, the temperature was 77. Oh well, there is nothing I can do about it.

Amy and I both had dentist appointments today. I got off easy with just a cleaning. Amy, on the other hand, had to have two cavities filled. It has been nearly four hours and half of her face is still numb. From there our evening took off. We made a trip to Sam's and loaded up. Then, the heat required a stop at the local snow cone stand. I went with tigers blood and Amy had Bahama mama. They were delicious. We were home by 7:30 leaving plenty of time to get Amy's shot ready. However, we were watching tv and lost track of time. At 8:33 we were discussing tomorrow night's shot. We have a meeting in Edmond at 7:00 and are not sure if we will be home in time. It then occurred to us that we had not given today's shot. I can't believe that neither of us remembered.

Beyond being thankful for my amazing wife today, which I am everyday, I am thankful for the medical technology that gives Amy and I opportunity and hope. It is almost incomprehensible to think that a doctor can remove a single cell from a three day old embryo and assess the genetic information. What will be possible 40 years from now? The song of the day is my favorite new country song Chicken Fried by the Z Brown Band. As Amy would say you can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy.

The Best Day of Our Life in June 2009

Why is today the best day of June, for the Bradt’s? Well let me tell you… It is the LAST day of these birth control pills! Woo-hoo! That is what I am thankful for today. I am not sure who is happier about this, me or my husband. I am happy about it because they make me N-U-T-S; but then again, he is happy about it because they make me nuts. It’s a draw.

So when I was thinking yesterday that we had nothing to do tonight, I forgot three things. 1. I am still in search of my mother’s birthday gift 2. I have to make some returns so I can make sure I get full credit and 3. I have a presentation tomorrow at the office that I need to get ready for. What does this mean? This means that there was no resting tonight. When my husband got home, we went to some stores to get this accomplished, however, still no gift for my mother. The only bit of good news out of all of this? We will have nothing to do tomorrow. The extra exciting part is So You Think You Can Dance will be on, so I can cook dinner, and we can veg out. It is always easier to relax when there is a show on that we like to watch. He only watches it because he enjoys the “popping” and “hip-hop” dances. My husband; he loves the urban world. I tried to make him take ballroom dance lessons with me when we first met, but he did not oblige. I think if I wanted to take him to a pop-and-lock class, he so would. He is so hilarious.

Best song today? “September” by Earth, Wind, and Fire. Why? It is another one of our favorites! This song makes us dance. Any wedding, party, or social gathering where this is playing, prepare yourself for the Bradt’s on the dance floor! But that’s not all!!!! The really exciting thing is we are going to see them August 22nd live! Can’t wait! ~Amy

Is it Bedtime Yet???

I am soooooooo looking forward to tomorrow night. It will be the first night in a long time that we can just relax…so don’t call. :) We are not doing ANYTHING! Tonight, I had a Junior League commitment, and just got home. Here is what is inconvenient…. Shots at 8! My husband had to come to where I was (about 20 minutes from our house) and administer the shot. I am sure people that were in the area probably thought I was a crack head (it is not the best neighborhood). My husband pulls up in the car, I walk over, a needle comes out, I wince, and go back inside. Can’t you imagine what bystanders are thinking??? Ha! That makes me giggle… However, I do feel bad. I wish I could do it myself, I am just too chicken. In my defense, the vast majority of people I talk to that have been through this can’t do it either. I just feel bad because he was going to go golfing with a friend tonight, but couldn’t because of my shot. These shots control our life!! It will all be worth it though, and honestly, I think he enjoys being a part of it. I am not sure he would want me to do it myself.

So, the last couple of days have been so sad. First, the experience with the children at the shelter, and then today I spoke to a lady who is paralyzed due to a gun shot wound to her head. Apparently, her husband was not happy with her at the moment and shot her directly in her head. Unreal. What am I thankful about today? Easy…My husband. I don’t even have to go into detail about that one. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my husband!

I have tried to immensely cut down on caffeine, so my ½ cup of coffee this morning is all I have had, and I have been on the go from 7:30 until now. The song that made my day today… “Tricky” by Run DMC! Classic! I have had my I-pod in most of the day, set on repeat, just “kickin’ it old school”. It also makes me think of the movie, White Chicks, which makes me laugh. Yeah, I love cheesy movies. ~Amy

Happy Fathers Day!

What a great Fathers Day we had today! We went to Thomas and celebrated with the whole family. They are in the process of harvest, and I love it. That is what I am thankful for today. A GREAT in-law family!
We had a great time and the sour cream and raisin pie was a hit.... so I hear... I was not brave enough to try it. We had to drive through Weatherford to get to Thomas, because we had to grab the KFC chicken, so we were on the road for a while. Song? "Bennie and the Jets" by Elton John. Zac and I love to turn it up and sing along at the top of our lungs. Great song! We got home just in time to get my shot! This one hurt a little tonight, but hey! I am not complaining... no headaches! ~Amy

I am E-X-H-A-U-S-T-E-D!

Today was INSANE! First, I had a Junior League meeting this morning. Once that ended, I met my friend Magan at a children's shelter here in OKC that temporarily houses children. That was definitely the saddest thing I have ever witnessed. I cannot blog about it, because words cannot describe it. Then, we headed to Henry's 1st birthday, which was hilarious. I love little kids when they eat cake. Henry, unlike most 1 year olds, did not like the idea of getting dirty. It was so funny! Then we had to go by my mothers house, gather some items, and head to the wedding. Yes, the wedding that I did the cake for. Here it is, once I fixed it:Yeah, the picture was taken on my lap... on the way to the reception. That was scary. The reception was at the Prohibition Room and that place is fabulous! What a great time! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Puebla! It was a beautifully simplistic wedding. The song that made me happy today was "At Last" by Etta James. A good ole' wedding song that seems to be a staple at every wedding. It fits them perfectly. Tonight after my shot, and the cake delivery, we went to the store so I can make my husband's grandfather a sour cream and raisin pie for Fathers Day. I have never made one, nor tasted one, but it is his favorite and I will make it! I cannot wait to see the family tomorrow!

This go around of in-vitro is so much different than the last. Last time I was militant about no caffeine, no wine, not being busy, shots at the EXACT time each night, etc... Obviously that did not work out for us. This time, it is like it is not even happening (if that makes any sense). I am going on with my everyday life and leaving it in God's hands. If the last round taught us anything, it is that we do not have control of our destiny. It is up to Him to give us what He thinks is best... and I PRAY that it a child, or children via this process!

Tonight, I am so very thankful for my mother. Sometimes as I reflect on my "not-so-perfect" childhood, I really take for granted what a great job my mother did raising me, and how she never gave up. After spending the early afternoon with those children, I am grateful for a mother who truly loves me and always put me first. Thanks Mom! ~Amy

I Hate Grout!

So today was my Friday off and I spent the whole day cleaning! I never realized how much crap gets in the grout of our tile floors! It could take me an entire day just to clean it. I wonder if I could hire someone just to do high level cleaning, you know things like grout and the blinds? Worth EVERY penny! My happy song for today was "Could You Be Loved" by Bob Marley. Bob and I are best friends when I have to do chores. It makes me feel like I am in the islands. I can open all of the blinds and clean away! Bob Marley, what a genius!

Also today, I took one of those cheesy Facebook quizzes. This one made me smile. Here are the results:
Amy took the Which Famous Historical Couple Are You? quiz and the result is John and Abigal Adams
A strong relationship based upon more than looks, you enjoy your partner's mind very much. You both have a strong political mind, and have an influence on those around you. The connection you share was written by a higher power. When you leave the party, people will be thinking you two are a match made in heaven.

I love that it says that the connection we share was written by a higher power. We have always felt that God brought us together... It had to be him, because we were too opposite to cross paths on our own!

My evening tonight consisted of me and Melanie completing the wedding cake for our friend. Now, again, this is a SMALL wedding before their actual ceremony in Mexico. Here it is... My first, and last, 3-tiered cake!
We used bright Gerbera daisies, because she loves them, and since the cake was slightly leaning, we overdosed it with flowers. Whimsical. That is the word to describe it. Whimsical.

Tonight's shot went really well. It was kind of a blur because my husband just got home with Pei Wei, Melanie and I were covered in powdered sugar and icing, and we were 10 minutes overdue. I basically turned around, cleaned the skin, and turned right back around to cake making. That is the one thing that I cannot stand about this first shot. It is high maintenance. It has to be administered at a certain temperature. We are going to have to miss an anniversary party that we were invited to because of it. The time of the party vs. the time of the shot, will just not work out. We waited until the last minute to back out, which I feel bad about, but I kept trying to think of ways to make it work. Ice in a cooler, one of those freezer bags, but then he was concerned about what to do with the medicine after the shot and on the way home. Just too much to worry about. Next time.

Which brings me to my thankful blurb of the day. I am thankful that we are able to do this again. As much of a pain in the rear it can be, and as emotional as it is, we have great support to help us achieve it. So many people never have this opportunity, I will be forever grateful.

My husband will probably have to blog tomorrow, I will be WARN OUT from my non-stop day!

2 Down, 22 More to Go!

Well, shot number two is a done deal. So far, they are not hurting, or burning, as much as I remembered. Maybe it is because I am not focusing as much on them this go around. Tonight our friends Jarrod and Magan had to get in the mix. That is the one thing about these shots that stink. We have to plan our evenings around our refrigerated medicines! If the shots did not have to be at a certain temperature, I would just fill up the syringe and carry it with me in my purse. Not the case! I cooked dinner and they joined us. My father-in-law loves cherry pie, so I made one to see if it is edible for Fathers Day and I think will a little sugar on the fresh cherries, it will be a go! I cannot believe we have not seen them since his high school reunion! That seems like so long ago and it has only been 3 weeks. I still cannot get over how much fun we had.

So this go around, besides getting relaxing massages, I am also going to remain positive, and be thankful for something daily. What brings me joy? As I stated yesterday, music. So every day on our blog we are going to think of a song that makes both of us smile and share with all of you. Maybe it will make you feel better, too! So, day two’s song du jour is: “She’s a Bad Mama Jama” by Carl Carlton. Sure, I was 3 (My husband was still in “months”) when it was a hit, but thanks to my mom, I have always known good music. I grew up with music playing in our house, car, pool, anywhere we were. What a great form of expression- I could go on and on… Did I mention that he has come a long way? Funny side story, when we first met, I was listening to James Taylor. My husband, not knowing who he was, asked who sang the song I was listening to. When I answered, James Taylor, he asked who that was. Seriously??? I about died! Then when I explained that he is a musical legend that is in almost every household he thought I was lying. He had to ask my mom if she knew James Taylor…she laughed…he believed me. Back to the point, “She’s a Bad Mama Jama” is hilarious and has a great beat. Mama Jama? Where did that even come from? It is a great song for every woman to have in her back pocket and pull it out when you need a small lift! What am I thankful for today? I am thankful for a magnificent husband who is open minded, thus willing to try new things! (Like good music!!)
On to day three!

Weee'rrre Baaacckk!!

So today, June 17th, is the first day of our "In-vitro, part deux." Starting today we will be blogging daily of our adventure. Everyone who knows me, knows I am into signs... well 17 is my lucky number. What a day to start! We have decided that we will do shots at 8pm, instead of 7pm like last time. I know... rebels.... BUT, I want to do everything different! Here are pictures to reflect the beginning of our journey...

A refrigerator full of meds and bags full of needles and alcohol swabs. FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

As we are blogging right now, we are listening to Adele, who is one of our favorite artists! I have hooked my husband on music. I truly believe a good song can brighten any sad moment! Music has always been a crutch for me and now him too! He needs something really positive right now, in fact, because the hot weather has got him in a CRANKY mood!! We would be happiest in a colder climate, or the tropics, but when the weather is hot and all you have is flat land to look at, awful! (Just a FYI... Southern Girl by Amos Lee is his new favorite, so he is getting in a better mood!)

I am really worn out today! I had to host a bridal shower for my friend, Sandra, at the last minute. She decided to get married this Saturday, last week. No, she is not pregnant. She is Mexican and having her traditional, Catholic wedding there in December. The US does not consider religious Mexican weddings a civil, legal wedding, so they have to marry here in the US as well. They were just planning on going to the Justice of the Peace once they were married, spiritually, in December, but her mother is in town from Mexico and they thought it would be nice to do it with an actual family witness. Nonetheless, they have planned a wedding in less than 10 days. It will be lovely! Well... except for the cake... my friend Melanie and I are going to make it... Pray for us! ;)

We are headed over to my mother's house for dinner tonight. We will have to hurry home because, I need to watch So You Think You Can Dance!

Everybody on their knees! We need all the help we can get!
Love,
Us

48 Hours Until this Starts Again!

Well, my meds are in! I just cannot believe that Wednesday starts the whole process again. Shots, headaches, hot flashes, mood swings….yuck! It will all be worth it in the end. I just really have a good feeling about this round.

The weekend came and went quickly! My dad and his wife stayed with us from Thursday until this morning. It was a really nice visit. My dad is battling bone cancer and it is really hard to see a man, that once was a professional football player, now be so weak. He has a tough, stubborn spirit though, so my hopes are very optimistic. Saturday night we went to my cousin’s house for dinner. Most of that side of my family, I have not seen in over 21 years. Isn’t that crazy? I have cousins that live 8 miles from me, but I barely know them. We vowed to make our relationship stronger. The highlight of rekindling with the fam was my cousins daughter, Jane Marie. Look how precious she is:
We absolutely fell in love with her. (My husband has a special spot in his heart for little girls- me on the other hand can just see the 15 years of future drama!!!) She is the chubbiest little thing with rolls in places I did not know babies could have them. She was never cranky and would laugh that sweet deep belly laugh, it was truly angelic. Oh! She is precious. Another positive is her mother is obsessed with Room to Dream, as am I, so we had a lot to talk about! She tells me my cousin takes her wallet from her when she goes in, but I doubt that is true because he is over the moon to be her daddy! It is remarkable.

This coming Saturday could quite possibly be the busiest day of my life. I have a Junior League commitment, 2 birthday parties, an anniversary party and a wedding. Something’s got to give! Isn’t that weird how one minute you can be completely free and then everything happens on that day? You can have all weekend, but one day overbooks! Usually I could handle it, but since I will be on the shots, my attitude will not allow it! I wear out easily…

Wednesday, we will start blogging daily until I am pregnant! I know a lot of people have been asking me why we are not on as much anymore, but we really are not that exciting! I cannot wait until we can blog about the babies and add pictures and updates – how fun! Having a blog is such a great outlet to keep family and friends that are out of state afloat with your life. I am BLESSED to have my friend, Melodie, who introduced me to this!

Talk soon!

Meds are on Their Way!

Today I finalized the order for all my shots! I cannot believe we are already at this step. I hope I ordered all the right things because this morning getting into the Tahoe, I nailed my head on the car and have felt weird all day. The nurses at my office did a pupil test and saw that they are reactive, so we are assuming no concussion! I have an enormous knot on my head and feel loopy. So weird... I am a HUGE klutz!

On top of that, my dad and his wife are in town 2 days early so they are coming to a messy house. So be it. I am too tired and busy to worry about it. Wednesday night and Thursday night were going to be the time to get the house together before their arrival. Whoops.

Also, I will have an ultrasound on the morning of July 4th, so we will not be heading out for the holiday early! Oh well! When I get pregnant, that will be the last of my worries!!

Just keeping everyone up to date! ~Amy

Good to Go!

I went to my first “official” doctors appointment today with my new doctor. He is so nice. Besides being nice, you can tell that his level of intelligence is higher than most, which is the most important thing!! I love my nurses too, by the way. I know everyone has heard me talk about them. Today I had to get my blood taken and for the first time in a long time, I almost passed out. The room started looking fuzzy and I started to see spots. I began to get hot and nauseous and I just knew I was going to collapse. Luckily my husband was right next to me and as soon as it was done, I laid down. One word… Embarrassing. How did this happen? I have my blood taken at least 4-5 times a month and yeah, it usually is a struggle, but passing out?? Ugh.

The good news is that I am right on schedule! My hormones levels are right on target. The dates that we have planned are a go! I am physically and mentally exhausted after my 6:30am-9:30pm day so I am heading to bed! ~Amy

Remember When You Had to Take Naps?

Whoo! What another jam packed weekend! We had so much fun hanging out with friends this weekend! The only thing missing with our friends is our child! I know so many people are wanting this so badly for us, that when our baby (or babies) come, it will be UBER spoiled! We just got back from hanging out with Jeff, Hilary, & Mason and Brian, Jamie & Sydney. Sydney is so precious. She is 8 weeks old and sleeps through the night. They are lucky!! I held her for a long time tonight and she sleeps with her mouth open, which causes her to snore. It was HILARIOUS! We also got to see Mason's music recital where, in true Mason fashion, he danced like a rock star. It was pretty cute.
Tomorrow is going to be the longest day ever for me! We have our first doctors appointment at 7:30am, then I work until to 5:30pm and have Junior League duties from 6-9pm! Do you remember when you had to take naps and did not want to? Oh! I wish I could nap now! Our doctor will be able to tell me how far along I am in the process of creating eggs. We will see if the dates that we are planning are on spot. I hope we are on for the time we are expecting, I am ready to get this show on the road!
My dad will be coming into town this week and will stay with us through the weekend. I feel bad because apparently harvest is late this year and my husband's family will be cutting wheat this weekend. We will not be able to help them. I actually enjoy harvest. It is peaceful... well for me... I drove the combine one time and it is too hard. Then I drove the wheat truck, and that was difficult because there are so many gears! I like to keep everyone hydrated and bring lunch. That was going to be my job this year. Yeah, I know what you are thinking... I am replaceable! Have a great week! ~Amy

What a FUN Night! (Oh, and we have a calendar)

What a fun time we had tonight! Our friends, Melodie and Jeremy, came over with their son Holden. He is about the cutest thing ever. We played "scrunch nose" and stuck out our tongues and played with a plant. It was hilarious because he loved when I shook it, but if it brought it close to him, he would freak out! It was so cute. He is so snugly, I just love him. We were sad to see him go, but it was 9:30, and he was tired. We offered to babysit, and I hope they take us up on it. He would be so much fun. Just precious.

Tomorrow I am having a "girls day" with my husband's fam. His mother, grandmother, and aunt are coming to the city and we are going to lunch, shop for shoes, and maybe get a pedicure. I can't wait. They are a lot of fun. Tomorrow night, Scott and Neilly are coming over for dinner with baby Henry and baby Lucy (still in utero). Saturday I have to work (Boo!)... we have a health fair that I will be at. I am excited though, because it is with the aging population and I have come to find that is my niche. We are going to try a new church on Sunday, we are just not sure which one. Will we ever find our church home? Who knows. What I am excited about is seeing Mason on Sunday. I hope he has some more dance moves. (For those who forgot, Mason is the 3 year old that likes to show the ladies his mad dance skills).

Have I mentioned how lucky we are to have such a great group of friends? We have so much support through all of this and get calls, emails, and texts daily asking about shots, when we start, etc... SO... for those who are wanting to know.... We have a calendar!!! (Look on the right side) We will update it as we get more accurate dates. Last time I was spot on, so I will predict that it will be a lot like that. There are so many people pulling for us, and we feel it! WOW! We are blessed. You all will never know how much each and every one of you means to us. Fasten your seat belts, because the ride is about to begin again! ~Amy

Best Time Ever!

So this weekend was my husband's 10 year reunion. We had the best time ever! I will admit that at first, I was not thinking that this would be nearly as fun as it was. I am so glad that we went. I am pretty sure that my fear of bugs was a first for some of the girls out there, but they were very patient with me, so thank you! Saturday morning the men went golfing and then everyone met at the local state park for a cookout. I came, armed with Deep Woods Off, and met a lot of his classmates and their families. I learned new information about my husband there too (blackmail for later). After the cookout was over, everyone went home and rested, changed clothes, and went to the dinner/dance. My husband, being the dancer that he is, had his fellow classmates in shock. I think that they thought he would sit against the wall in a chair all night and watch the party happen. Instead, he was the party. Apparently the husband I know and the the man in the late 90’s are two different people. Dancing like a mad man, he had everyone in stitches. Unfortunately, he cannot do the “Two-step” so I had to dance with his friends. (Isn’t that weird that he is from a small, county music lovin’ town, and he cannot Two-step?) If I had a dollar for how many times people came up to me and told me that they had no idea that he was this much fun, I could almost buy that lake house that I want! We had a so much fun… maybe a little too much! ;)

Sunday we woke up and went to church with the family. Well…at least that is what I think we did. I woke up on Sunday with some girl issues and did not have any medicine. That is when I proceeded to take a muscle relaxer… BIG mistake, HUGE! I have only taken a muscle relaxer one other time in my life. I slept for almost 24 hours. I thought, well… maybe that was just a weird deal, or maybe that was a stronger dosage. WRONG! I can take pain pills and still work (timeout- I am not a pill popper, or take them on a regular basis, I just mean after a root canal, or something like egg retrieval – just want to clear that up before I start anonymously getting N.A. brochures in the mail) but muscle relaxers, forget about it! Do you remember the part in Sixteen Candles where Ginny is getting married and stumbles down the aisle? That is what I felt like. On our way home, I fell asleep and I am pretty sure I was drooling. Two words: HOT MESS!

This week will be pretty slow for us, thank God! We need some time to decompress. We have been on the go non-stop for the past 3 weeks! Last night, when we got home, we felt like we were on vacation! We had not been at home, sitting down, watching TV in forever! Every night we have had something to do! We are excited for summer TV. My favorite, So You Think You Can Dance, and my husband's favorite, Big Brother, are on. I know what you are thinking… “Wow! They are really deep people”… but really, isn’t TV for entertainment? If I wanted to think, I would read a book!

And one more thing… Check out our roses! TLC plant food… can’t beat it!!
