Day One Hundred and Forty Nine: Poop Galore

Poop. That is the topic of our conversation at least once a day. How romantic....

So, since it is on our minds daily, let me share it with you. How to be a bad parent lesson #1? Switch from powder to ready-to-feed bottles. In my defense, it was the EXACT SAME FORMULA!! How was I to know that it would throw him off? Since we were on the road, I figured we would purchase the stuff already made and save on time and give us a little extra space in our bags. EPIC. FAIL. Even though little Jude LOVES LOVES LOVES the ready to feed, his tummy didn't. He pooped Friday morning, and not again until Monday. Yikes. He was a grunting machine. Needless to say, Monday was "Poop Galore Day". He had three dirty diapers by 11am!

Once that was all cleared up, we went to Chuy's in Norman and met some friends. Little mister was feeling good, and rockin' his Memorial Day onesie with his sunglasses. Little cutie!
(look at that belly!) Clearly, even though I upset his tummy, he is still eating well! I can't wait to show off his face.... CUTEST. BABY. ALIVE.

Day One Hundred and Forty Eight: Livin' the Country Life

On the way back from Freedom Sunday, we stopped in Thomas to visit my husband's grandparents and Aunt Kimmy. It is harvest time, so it was busy. Thanks to my Aunt Jan - by way of Chicago- Jude had his first John Deere harvest outfit and he was ready to go. We couldn't stay long because that Western Oklahoma wind is NO JOKE! Jude loves his Aunt Kimmy!

Day One Hundred and Forty Seven: On the Road Again

Early Saturday morning, we took off for Freedom to visit my husband's family for their annual family reunion. Besides stopping to get him out of his car seat for a minute, he did rather well! Of course, everyone in Freedom just gushed over our little man! He is the sweetest!

Day One Hundred and Forty Six: Bestie!

On Friday, we had an impromptu date with these guys:

How fun! Jude loves his best friend!

Day One Hundred and Forty Four: Play Date #3!

Wednesday I took little man to hang out with his friends, London and Esther. He had a GREAT time! He loves the outdoors!
....and he is getting quite the belly! Cutie.

Day One Hundred and Forty Five: Nothing Exciting Happened... so I forgot to blog!

The only thing that I can talk about for this day, is the lifesaver that is the Soothing Giraffe. We have one for Jude's car seat, and it makes time in the car soooooo much more enjoyable. If you know someone who is about to have a baby, get one!!!

Day One Hundred and Forty Three: OU Childrens

So today we took little man into the specialist to discuss his penis. He had an issue with his circumcision, and we needed to have a pediatric urologist look at it. Good news, there are no health issues to be concerned about. What makes a happy mommy besides good news? A helpful staff! So many doctors are ridiculous, but we had an AMAZING experience. From the receptionist, to the nurse, to the doctor - it was all around fabulous. Thank you OU Childrens!

Day One Hundred and Forty Two: Thank Yous

I am almost caught up on all of my Thank You cards that I need to send out. If you are somebody that has not received one, sorry! I am trying my best, but am completely overwhelmed! (Good thing to be overwhelmed by, huh?)

Day One Hundred and Forty One: Weekend Tummy Troubles

You know, they tell you once you have a baby it is amazing how all you talk about is poop. "They" are right. Little dude had some issues and I had to probe him to make the magic happen. Honestly, it wasn't hard for either of us, and now all is well and good. Thank God for the invention of this:

Day One Hundred and Forty: We are Blessed!

Saturday night was Jude's shower thrown by our great friends. The food, decorations, and love was overwhelming. It was such a special night for us that meant SO much. We have waited years for this and to be surrounded by those that love and support us was amazing.

It was a come-and-go shower from 4-6 and the Stafford's house and the theme was in orange and aqua to match the accents in his room. There was a faux photo booth that people took pictures in and signed a book so we can always have a memory of that special night. So many people had other events going on as May is the season for weddings, graduations, patio parties, but they stopped in to show their love. We got so many wonderful gifts for little man, and so many compliments on how cute he is!

We love everyone who has supported us through this journey; without you we wouldn't have made it. So, THANK YOU!! XoXoXo times a million!

(Here is a little glimpse of the party)

Day One Hundred and Thirty Nine:Thunder Up!

Friday night we took little man to his first Thunder watch party, and he looked CUTE!

Day One Hundred and Thirty Eight: Bittersweet

May 17th is kind of a sad day for me. Today, my father would have turned 69 years old. Also, today marks one year from the day of my dad's funeral. And, also, this marks one year from the day I thought I would never recover from. For those who don't recall, this is the night I was in excruciating pain and went into the ER in the wee hours of May 18th to find out I was miscarrying.... yet again.... which led to an ectopic pregnancy and my first ever hospital stay. So, for me May 17th is just a sad day.

HOWEVER, May 17th 2012 is amazing! Why? Because I woke up to the most precious cry this morning (which I am not going to lie, at 6:00am really annoyed me) reminding me that all of our dreams have come true. We are parents to the most amazing little boy! He is absolutely precious, and I mean SERIOUSLY precious. I can't wait to show him off, and don't mind being arrogant because I had nothing to do with this genetic makeup! He is so cute, I know 100% that my husband and I could not have created cuter. Have I mentioned that I cannot wait to show him off?

Happy Birthday, dad. Wish you could have met him...

Day One Hundred and Thirty Seven: THUNDER!

So as everyone knows, our OKC Thunder is doing some damage to the Lakers! Woo-hoo! Thanks to this guy:
our little guy will be rocking a DARLING onesie for tomorrow night's away game! Can't wait to show pics!

Day One Hundred and Thirty Six: Picture Disaster

So, I thought I would take Jude to get monthly pictures at one of these picture chains. DISASTER.
First of all, this was not his newborn photo shoot, and I tried explaining that numerous times. I just wanted one pose with one outfit to document the monthly picture. HASSLE. The guy kept trying to put him on his stomach (which would not show off his 1 month shirt) and then was adding boas, it was ridiculous. Sleep deprivation + not being listened to + a hungry Jude = a SCARY, SCARY Amy. Needless to say we will not be back. Also adding to the frustration, these monthly stickers are not all they are cracked up to be. His kept peeling off!

At least we got a decent picture:

Day One Hundred and Thirty Five: ONE MONTH

Time FLIES!!!! Little Jude Thomas is one month old today!

HAPPY ONE MONTH, LITTLE BUDDY! We love you!

Day One Hundred and Thirty Four: Mothers Day

I have waited so many years to hear, "Happy Mothers Day, Amy" and yesterday it happened! I had the BEST day, from the awesome necklace from my husband

to the awesome pillow from my mother and mother-in-law

to the awesome spread they prepared for me

to this picture. My family. :)

Day One Hundred and Thirty Three: Wedding Fun!

On Saturday, we co-hosted a couples shower for our friends Carter and Ashley. They are getting married at the end of June in Fort Worth and we can't wait!

We had the shower at Deep Deuce in Bricktown, and it was a laid back good time.

Day One Hundred and Thirty Two: Beginning of Mothers Day Weekend

Today, my husband came home with these for Mothers Day weekend:

One peony from each of my boys... My husband, My dog, and My son. Amazing.

Day One Hundred and Thirty One: Post Placement

Today was our first of two, Post Placement home study. The social worker was so nice and absolutely LOVED Jude's nursery. (That makes me happy) She was super nice and really excited about us being parents. It's funny, she asked us what our parenting style was and we just rambled. Finally I said, "I don't really follow a style. Here is my thought... I could write a book tomorrow, label it the Bradt Style and have several followers, but what do I know?" Her response, "Good answer." HA!

Day One Hundred and Thirty: Play Date

Jude had his first play date with his friends, London and Esther. We went to the Wedge and had lunch outside. The weather was perfect, and he sure does love the outdoors!

Day One Hundred and Twenty Nine: 1st Baby Shower

We are so blessed. My office threw us a baby shower and needless to say, it is a good thing we have a Highlander now because it was PACKED! I mean from ceiling to floor! We almost had to call my husband and ask him to bring his Tahoe up to help out! Here are some pictures from the special day, including the 500-count diaper cake! HUGE!

Day One Hundred and Twenty Eight: NEW CAR

Well, we finally got me a new car! I got a 2012 Toyota Highlander and I LOVE it! It is large, but not too large, drives smoothly and most importantly, safe!

Day One Hundred & Twenty Seven: Errands

Running errands is not as easy as it used to be with a newborn. We went to Crest, my friends baby shower, and home. What should have taken us about 2 hours, ended up taking about 5. We had to stop and take several breaks, including time to stare at the baby. Not because of us, but because of him.... He hates being in his car seat..... Uh-oh!

Day One Hundred and Twenty Six: First Dinner Out

We took little dude to meet the Pattersons for his first dinner out, and he did GREAT!

Day One Hundred and Twenty Five: Jude's First Game Night

Have I mentioned that we have AMAZING friends? Well, tonight was our first game night with the little guy and he received special treatment:

How sweet! Thanks you guys!

Day One Hundred and Twenty Four: Landree Reese

Today we had a baby shower at work for a precious girl celebrating the upcoming arrival of her precious girl, Landree Reese. Kenzie will be an AMAZING mother! Little Landree is blessed!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WHITMIRES!

Day One Hundred and Twenty Three: Circumcised

Circumcision. A thing you should definitely do at the hospital. We couldn't circumcise him then due to swelling so we had to wait. I am pretty sure it was harder on me then it was on him. I had him in Baby Legs so he didn't have any weight on his (business). My husband hates them & thinks they are for girls. I think they are sweet. :(

Day One Hundred and Twenty Two: Big Brother

We are still so happy with Bo's progress. He is still struggling with not being our #1, but look at how he cares!

Day One Hundred and Twenty One: Back to Work

Today I went back to work. On the way there, I cried like a baby, but it was nice to be with adults. Everyone was so happy to see me and of course wanted to see pics of the little man. Everyone fell in love with him (as expected) - He is so cute!

Day One Hundred and Twenty: Gigi to the Rescue!

Today Gigi arrived! She stayed with us all week so I could go back to work. She was a BLESSING and I am excited that Jude got to spend time with her... and I think she was pretty happy about it too!!
