Day Thirty One: Dinner With Girlfriends

I have said it once and I will say it again. We have an AMAZING support system! Tonight after work I met my friends Tina and Renee for dinner.

I actually broke away from chicken noodle soup to have cream of wild mushroom. DELICIOUS! My husband went over to his friend Russ' house to tackle Madden football while I was gone... boys.... :)

Day Thirty: Really 2012?

So this sums up my life in January...

Really 2012? This was supposed to be a better year than 2011. I mean, I have the elephant and everything. For those who have called me - sorry, my throat hurts SO badly I am not even talking. Yes, my husband might say that is a blessing... :)

Day Twenty Nine: Strep

Well, there is something to the theory of stress + depression reducing your immune system. Now I have Strep Throat!

Day Twenty Eight: Valentines Prep

Today we decorated our house for Valentine's Day! I am so excited about what I got my husband this year... he will just have to wait 17 more days!

Day Twenty One: Baby London

Tonight we helped host a baby shower for baby London! The shower, themed "Little Man", was so cute with mustaches and all. However, nothing was as cute as my little snuggle bug!

Day Twenty: Oscar Buzz #2

Ok - so tonight we rented this:

Aside from getting to watch Ryan Gosling & George Clooney for 2 hours, I was pretty disappointed.

Day Nineteen: A Towel

So, I had to order the matching towel to the bathmat that I got in from West Elm... and I had them monogram it. Cute!

Day Eighteen: Another Show We Are Addicted To

So I am feeling a little better, but didn't go to work today. My fever was almost 101! I have not been this sick in years. I had the chills so badly last night, my husband had to put 3 afghans on me because I was physically shaking. So scary! Anyway, since we have been stuck in the house for 48+ hours, we started watching a new show (for us) on Showtime.

A-DDIC-TED.

Day Seventeen: Sick

I woke up early in the morning with the stomach flu. Yuck. This has been my diet:

Monday, January 16, 2012

Day Sixteen: Crest

Today mom and I did some major grocery shopping at my favorite store! Crest. Love it. Since we have been depressed and lazy lately, we have been eating out too much. Tomorrow will mark 90 days until I am 35, so I figure it is time to get on it.

Sunday, January 15, 2012

Day Fifteen: BBQ

Tonight we went over to our friend's house for a BBQ. After eating a delicious meal of ribs, chicken, and sides we played Dominoes. We forget how fun it is!

Day Fourteen: Karaoke!

So my coworkers decided we needed a night out to cheer us up and it was great. I appreciate our support system SO MUCH. The best part of our night was my friend (male) who sand Fancy by Reba for me with a slight touch of interpreted dance. It was ah-maaaz-ing.

Friday, January 13, 2012

Day Thirteen: Game Night

Tonight we had a lot of fun playing games with some good friends. Once again, as usual, the women dominated...

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Day Twelve: Bath Mat (sad, huh?)

So the excitement today was getting in my new bath mat from West Elm. Nothing exciting, but the most exciting part of my day.

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Day Eleven: Snow

So it's not much, but it was a surprise:

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Day Ten: Movie

Nothing exciting happened today, or tonight, so we rented a movie. I hope it is good, my husband has been dying to see it.

Monday, January 9, 2012

Day Nine: Funny Friends

Our friend, Sharon, was concerned about our first day back to the office. So, she decided to give me a care package which consisted of my two favorites (M&M Peanuts and Pinot Noir) and my husband's. Everyone always jokes that he eats like a toddler; you know, few vegetables, nothing too exotic... So, she got him his 2 favorites as well: 1)Peanut Butter & Jelly and 2) Dr. Pepper. HILARIOUS!

Day Eight: Another Sad Day

Each year we have a photo album displaying the events of our year.. Well our married year, so May 20th of the said year through May 19th of the next. We realized today that we don't have that album prepared, so I went through our Picasa albums labeled 2011 to get pictures for the album. What I forgot is from August 1st-December 22nd, every picture relates to the baby. So nonetheless, it has been rough today. I found this picture which made me cry the most. It is at our Gender Reveal party taken the moment after we found out it was a girl. My husband was so happy, and I was so in shock. Looking at this picture just makes me remember how happy we once were and how I hope we can get back there.

Day Seven: Luck?

Today we received our lucky charm, or so Chelsey says. :)

Hopefully this will bring us luck!

Friday, January 6, 2012

Day Six: Organization

This year since we have some free time on our hands, we decided to pack up Christmas in a very organized way.

Ziploc's and all...

Day Five: Sucks

Days like this suck... Today, I got our baby girl's Valentines Day dress in the mail. :(

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

Day Four: Cleaning

This is what happened today:
Probably doesn't look like much to you, but to us it is HUGE. We wiped down every cabinet inside and out, cleaned out every drawer, scrubbed the oven, everything. Our kitchen is immaculate... and it took about 2 days. Yikes.

Tuesday, January 3, 2012

Day Three: Reading

I am in a book club, and this months' selection was The Hunger Games. I was not real excited, as I usually don't like these type of books. Well let's just say I finished the 1st book in about 7 hours, and my husband went to Barnes and Noble to get the trilogy before lunchtime today. He is now on book 1, as I finish book 2. INCREDIBLE.

Day Two - OSU

Here is my day two picture. My husband decked out in his OSU gear, celebrating a Fiesta Bowl victory. That was the excitement of the day. Amy

365 Challenge

So, there is a trend happening right now on social network photo apps, and the "blog world". Capturing a picture everyday in 2012 to remember your year. We are going to try it. Why? Because this HAS to be our year. Saying goodbye to 2011 was NOT hard; let me remind you why:

January 2011- Went in to have my wisdom teeth removed, ended up with a fractured tooth, and abscess tooth, and finally another root canal

April 2011- My father died

May 2011- Find out I am pregnant.... on Mother's Day

May 2011- Lose baby at dad's funeral and have to end up in the hospital for 2 days

June 2011- Friends lose their son in a tragic and horrific accident

July 2011- Spread my father's ashes and ended the estate drama

July 2011- Family Fourth of July cancelled b/c of a drought - not that big of a deal, but when does that ever happen?? In 2011....

August 2011- Enter into an adoption... good news, right?

December 2011- get hit upside the head with a failed adoption 2 days before Christmas.

Yep, see ya' 2011.... No fond memories there.

So here is my picture for the 1st day into 2012:

A bottle of Dom Perignon. That is what we had to ring in the New Year. Unfortunately, we left shortly after midnight because as I was sitting there playing games, I realized that I was supposed to have a baby in my arms. My daughter was supposed to be there spending her first New Years with us. Needless to say, I had a complete breakdown in the bathroom and we abruptly left.

We figure take every ounce of luck we can get this year, that is why we bought the Dom. We also ate black-eyed peas and ordered a wooden elephant (thanks, Chelsey) that will go on the fireplace and face the door. Apparently it is a great source of good luck. Hopefully it will all work out for us. Happy 2012! ~Amy
