Today has been a long day. During a grueling day at work, I learned that Amy's grandmother had been admitted into the hospital. She has not been feeling good all week and the doctor felt that she was dehydrated and needed to run some tests. I got in touch with Amy to tell her the news and she went straight to the hospital. After work, I headed there as well. She seemed to be doing better after receiving some IV fluids and oxygen. Amy and I went and had a nice dinner with my mother-in-law, Norma.
After dinner it was time to come home and give the 3 shots. Amy has not been feeling good this week and has been very uncomfortable. Tonight, I got through the first 2 shots and Amy started crying because she is tired of the shots and is frustrated that we have to go through this process. I could really tell that they were hurting her tonight and felt so bad for her. We got the last shot taken care of so we can move on until tomorrow. I took her to get a snow cone after her shots, and she felt better.
Today, I am thankful for Amy's grandmother and the close proximity to us. Today's song of the day is "You are The Best Thing" by Ray Lamontagne. It is my favorite song of his and reminds me of Amy every time I hear it.

Right on Track
We had a doctor's appointment this morning to make sure everything was going in the right direction. We (or should I say Amy) is right on track. Tomorrow the shots are increased to three per night. It is hard to believe, but exciting, that all of this is happening again. I feel so bad for Amy. The medicines have caused her to swell and she is so uncomfortable. It will all be worth it though.
After grudging through the work day, we had a nice dinner with our friends Scott and Neilly. They had us over for dinner, and it was great. Because they live close, we were able to take tonight's shot with us and it stayed cool until 8:00. Now, that the shots will be increased to three I don't think we will be able to get away from the house transporting the shots. Today, I am thankful for my wife's selflessness. She endures so much to give us this chance. She is pretty amazing to say the least! Today's song is "Take me to the River" by Al Green. It is one of those songs that you can listen to over and over without it getting old.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!
Well, today is my mother's 61st birthday! Usually, we have a lunch or dinner with friends and/or family, but my grandmother is not well. This year, mom elected to go to lunch and a movie. Why is it every time I wear white I spill something that could easily permanently stain on me? Anywho... we went to lunch and then saw The Proposal. It was really cute. My husband went with us too. That is what I am thankful for today. I am thankful that my mother and husband get along so well to the point where he enjoys hanging out with just me and my mom. Today, the song that makes me smile is "Beat It" by Michael Jackson. Why? Because my mother explained to my husband and I on the way to lunch that "Beat It" is her favorite Michael Jackson song from the Thriller album. Also, she educated us on the fact that 7 of the 9 songs on that album went platinum! Here is her birthday picture. We really look nothing alike... The Lithuanian really shows in my mom, I am definitely a Thomas! Well, anyway, HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!
Before mom's birthday, we went to church with a childhood friend of mine, Kara, and her family. It was a very small Church of Christ church, and the members were so friendly. It was a lovely church. I think that we miss instruments, though! Tomorrow is our big "baseline" ultrasound. It will tell us how far along I am in building my uterine wall (gross, I know) and what dosage of hormones they want to put me on. Today, when I was reviewing our calendar, we noticed that we are only 2 weeks away from retrieval. That is crazy. I cannot believe it is right around the corner! I also found out that my Aunt Jan and Barb are coming in from Chicago July 24th. Perfect timing! Hopefully we are celebrating a positive pregnancy test! My results will be sometime between the 24th and 26th! Also, our friends Amy & Dave are coming in to celebrate that weekend with us! Yea! Surrounded by great people! Have a great Monday! ~Amy

Sunburned and Exhausted!
So today hit 101... no big deal, except for it is the day that we decided to do yard work and do some landscaping projects. Really. What, or should I say who, am I thankful for today? Willis Haviland Carrier. For those who do not recognize this person, he is the man that invented air conditioning. Bless him.
Our day started out at the Farmers Market. OSU/OKC was pretty good, however, the selection was slim. I think it is still a little early. We then went to the original downtown Farmers Market, but it was mainly Mexican products and pinatas. I know where to go for my next fiesta! Then, we went to have breakfast at Classen Grill. For those who haven't been, go-go-go! It is wonderful! It started off being a really cute and fun day! Then my husband thought we should go to some rock place in downtown to look for stones for our flower beds. While we were there, we went to Cow-town for my mother's gift, no luck. Anyway, we bought some stones and then got to work. 5 hours in the 100+ weather, this is what we ended up with:

Needless to say, we are sunburned and exhausted. After we were done, we went to *of course* the snow cone stand and my husband got Spiderman. It really was delicious. It was a sweet moment because when he was finished with it, his lips and teeth were purplish/blue and he was so happy. I thought to myself, I want our sons to be just like you. Debby, if you are reading this, THANK YOU for raising an amazing man.

Funky Monkey
Have I mentioned that I love snow cones? After having dinner with our friend, Ed, I took him to my favorite spot (the snow cone stand) and had Funky Monkey. It was delicious. I am pretty sure it was a mix of peach and banana. Soon, I will be a connoisseur...
Today was a good day. Hot, but good. My office is mourning the loss of Michael. I am pretty sad as well. I remember the Thriller poster that I had above my bed as a small child and how I would kiss it before bed and tell Michael I loved him. He was such a lost soul. My husband and I are preparing ourselves for "Hades Day" tomorrow. We plan to do a TON of yard work. Sure, the morning sounds like a good time, but we have errands that have to get done in the morning. For instance, we are going to the OSU/OKC Farmers Market. I am choosing to go there over the Edmond one, because when I went there 2 weeks ago, there were produce stickers on the fruit and vegetables. I choose to support local, homegrown products! What am I thankful for today? The ability to be able to buy organic products without chemicals!!! Then, we have to go to "Cow-town" (Lord, help me) to find my mother's birthday gift. Sure, I bet you are confused... My mom and Cow-town, do not mix. There is a Native American jeweler down there who "allegedly" has a red coral necklace. We will see. I did find one at a local OKC jeweler, but it was over $1000. I love my mom, but my pocketbook doesn't love that! The song that made me smile today is "Right as Rain" by Adele because it is wonderful. It calms me!
After having dinner, and a snow cone with Ed, he came over and we got on Facebook to look at things. Luckily, he remembered my shot at 8 o'clock on the dot. Yeah. 1st time this week! Ed helped us decide that we liked our new office curtains, and then decided to drive back to Norman. We will probably go to bed now, because the 100+ weather will surely wear us out!

What a Sad Day, Michael's Dead and I am Bloated...
Can you believe this? First Farrah and then Michael! Here is what is sad, and not that the publicity really matters, but now that MJ is gone, it seems like the nation forgot about the blond Charlie's Angel that made that signature hair style so famous! So young, both of them! I wish their families peace.
So besides all of that, today has been pretty relaxing. We went to an Essential Oil presentation. It truly is amazing. The couple that hosted it are both 75, and not on a single medication! They are so active and healthy. These oils were used in biblical times, and are meant to maintain healthiness. I think we are hooked. On the way home, we stopped by and got a snow cone. Hi, my name is Amy and I am a snow cone addict. Seriously. Jeff, I blame you for this. My husband's friend Jeff introduced me to the snow cone stand in Edmond, that is so delicious, and I can't stop. I will eat veggies and fruit for dinner to consume calories in snow cone syrup. Sick, isn't it? Today, I am thankful for the person whom created snow cones.
Anywho... the shots are making my skin get a little sensitive. Not that I can't handle it, at least I have not had headaches! Here is what is happening though, I am BLOATED! Not just a little, tremendously bloated. Pants that I buttoned Tuesday, I cannot even button. Not real fun when it is 103 degrees. I might wear knit pants to work tomorrow. Thank you, Brad Henry, for letting Friday be casual days. Usually it is jeans, but hmm... Heat + bloat + denim? Not so sure about that! Monday is my ultrasound and Tuesday starts hormones! I cannot believe that part of it is already here. Do you realize I will know if I am pregnant in less than 35 days? INSANE!

Whoops
Well, today came and went, and it is still hot. How do I know it is way too hot, three reasons. First, it is hard to do anything outside because the heat takes everything out of you. Second, we got our electric bill and it was over $200. It is definitely time to make the move to average billing. Lastly, the air conditioner cannot keep pace with the heat to cool off the house. During the day, we run our air conditioner on 75. When we got home at 7:30 tonight, the temperature was 77. Oh well, there is nothing I can do about it.
Amy and I both had dentist appointments today. I got off easy with just a cleaning. Amy, on the other hand, had to have two cavities filled. It has been nearly four hours and half of her face is still numb. From there our evening took off. We made a trip to Sam's and loaded up. Then, the heat required a stop at the local snow cone stand. I went with tigers blood and Amy had Bahama mama. They were delicious. We were home by 7:30 leaving plenty of time to get Amy's shot ready. However, we were watching tv and lost track of time. At 8:33 we were discussing tomorrow night's shot. We have a meeting in Edmond at 7:00 and are not sure if we will be home in time. It then occurred to us that we had not given today's shot. I can't believe that neither of us remembered.
Beyond being thankful for my amazing wife today, which I am everyday, I am thankful for the medical technology that gives Amy and I opportunity and hope. It is almost incomprehensible to think that a doctor can remove a single cell from a three day old embryo and assess the genetic information. What will be possible 40 years from now? The song of the day is my favorite new country song Chicken Fried by the Z Brown Band. As Amy would say you can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy.
