Boston, You are Beautiful.

I have been blessed in life, to see almost every state in the U.S., thanks to being an only grandchild, and having grandparents that knew in order to be well rounded, you had to get out of your bubble. So, Yellowstone - check; Mt. Rushmore - check; Disneyworld- check; Grand Canyon- check; D.C. - check; it goes on and on. The one area we never explored was the far Northeast. Not really sure why, to be honest. I have been to New York and New Jersey and I love the city life so I was ready for Boston. Well, not so much. Boston blew me away. 1) The architecture is amazing 2) The foliage is breathtaking 3) The people are as friendly as Oklahomans 4) It is the perfect mix of "city" and "suburb" 5) The Red Sox!

Z has loved the Red Sox for as long as I have known him.... die hard really. Which prompted the question I got asked the most by the locals, "How in the world does a guy from Oklahoma love the Sox?" (They did appreciate his loyalty). We had the MOST amazing time ever. The weather was beautiful, and the whole ambiance was worth the trip. Seriously. If you haven't been, you have to go.

Here is the only problem with Boston.... As we were sitting at a small restaurant (literally 9 tables) in Little Italy having an AMAZING dinner, and Chianti that would blow your mind, one of the owners was talking to us. I admired her Chanel necklace, and we started talking fashion. Once she knew we were "down" she started to ask about the prices of homes in Oklahoma. We explained for $500-$700k, you could build the house of your dreams, emphasizing it's luxuries. She about passed out. She told us in Boston, a small brownstone she recently sold was $1.4 million. After a long talk about money, she told us to live a life that we would want to, we would need to make 7 figures.... Yikes.

On Monday, after my husband came down from his Fenway Park high, he "treated" us to the Freedom Trail. We walked the entire thing, with him as our guide. Z loves history, and boy did it show. The best part was every 30 minutes or so, he would ask us a trivia question. Now, those who know me know I 1) Have little patience and 2) HATE history, but I knew this was HIS trip and he was loving it. PLUS, it was our lucky day, because he watched the John Adams box set before we went! Not to mention Constitutional Law was his favorite course.... ugh..... Anyway, I was a trooper. Not to brag on myself, my husband even admitted it. In fact, I was so good, I got to go to Tiffany's and bring home a "I was a good girl" blue box! Have I mentioned I have the best husband in the universe? ~Amy
