I am E-X-H-A-U-S-T-E-D!

Today was INSANE! First, I had a Junior League meeting this morning. Once that ended, I met my friend Magan at a children's shelter here in OKC that temporarily houses children. That was definitely the saddest thing I have ever witnessed. I cannot blog about it, because words cannot describe it. Then, we headed to Henry's 1st birthday, which was hilarious. I love little kids when they eat cake. Henry, unlike most 1 year olds, did not like the idea of getting dirty. It was so funny! Then we had to go by my mothers house, gather some items, and head to the wedding. Yes, the wedding that I did the cake for. Here it is, once I fixed it:Yeah, the picture was taken on my lap... on the way to the reception. That was scary. The reception was at the Prohibition Room and that place is fabulous! What a great time! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Puebla! It was a beautifully simplistic wedding. The song that made me happy today was "At Last" by Etta James. A good ole' wedding song that seems to be a staple at every wedding. It fits them perfectly. Tonight after my shot, and the cake delivery, we went to the store so I can make my husband's grandfather a sour cream and raisin pie for Fathers Day. I have never made one, nor tasted one, but it is his favorite and I will make it! I cannot wait to see the family tomorrow!

This go around of in-vitro is so much different than the last. Last time I was militant about no caffeine, no wine, not being busy, shots at the EXACT time each night, etc... Obviously that did not work out for us. This time, it is like it is not even happening (if that makes any sense). I am going on with my everyday life and leaving it in God's hands. If the last round taught us anything, it is that we do not have control of our destiny. It is up to Him to give us what He thinks is best... and I PRAY that it a child, or children via this process!

Tonight, I am so very thankful for my mother. Sometimes as I reflect on my "not-so-perfect" childhood, I really take for granted what a great job my mother did raising me, and how she never gave up. After spending the early afternoon with those children, I am grateful for a mother who truly loves me and always put me first. Thanks Mom! ~Amy
