Day One Hundred and Seventy Nine: Meeting the Thomas Family!

Wednesday night, my cousin from California came in to visit so my cousin had the whole Thomas clan over for dinner. It was wonderful seeing everyone and OF COURSE, they couldn't get enough of Jude!

Day One Hundred and Seventy Eight: Best Friend Love

London is doing so well adapting to Jude at his house in the mornings! Chelsey texted me this picture:

London giving his best friend some kisses! How cute!

Day One Hundred and Seventy Seven: WORK!

So I cried all morning heading back to work, but knowing he is safe with Chelsey is a RELIEF! It also helps that I have great coworkers that welcome me back with sweet messages like this:

Day One Hundred and Seventy Six: BFF's

So Sunday was my last day as a "stay at home mom". I started back to work part time on Monday. Jude is staying with Chelsey and London while I work in the mornings. Here are some plates I got them to celebrate their friendship!

Day One Hundred and Seventy Five: Out and About

Saturday we ran a ton of errands, including hitting up the Baby Gap where my friend had a 50% storewide coupon! We got Jude some darling sleepers! (We already have almost everything in the store thanks to my crazy friends!) Then we hit Bobbi Brown, Babies R Us, Michaels, a local baby store, and home. Later in the day we met some friends at the park and I took some pictures of their family for fun, and some turned out really, really cute!

After a hard early evening in the heat and wind, little Mr. was ready for bed. We were actually surprised that he was considering he slept most of the day!
This morning, when I woke up, I found him like this:
(Before anyone freaks out, those are breathable bumpers)

It never fails, he is going to get one foot out! Ha! Cutie.

Day One Hundred and Seventy Four: O' Sole Mio

Friday night we  had dinner at Vito's with the Pueblas. It has the real old town Chicago feel, and the food ... and wine... was delicious. Ever since we went to Little Italy in NYC, my husband has been obsessed with Penne al a Vodka. He didn't see it on the menu, so he asked for it and they made it especially for him! Brat! :) Jude was looking very Italian gangster/Dean Martin-esque last night too. How fun!

Day One Hundred and Seventy Three: Thunder DOWN

Last night was a heart breaker... Our awesome Thunder lost to the Heat. :(
I even set the table in Thunder colors and had Thunder cupcakes and Thunder cookies; that didn't even do the trick. BUT, how sad can you be being the #2 team in the US? Not to shabby!

Day One Hundred and Seventy Two: Home Play Date

Wednesday, we stayed in our pajamas all day and Hilary and Mason came over to lounge with us. We just sat and talked and played while Mason watched Goonies. Mason is so sweet with little Jude, but I could tell he was pretty bored with his toys....
HA!

Day One Hundred and Seventy One: Dreaded Day

Well today was Jude's 2 month visit to the doctor, so you know what that means:
SHOTS!
I was prepared thanks to my friends, and gave him a little Tylenol before we went. First of all, the boy is huge. Not huge fat, just big. He is in the 95% of height and 75% weight. He is going to dominate. So the nurse comes in and tells me it will be fine and I explain that I am not one of those moms who will break down and cry... Get over it. Your kid needs shots. It is a part of life... I am just anxious. She laughed and told me she loves it when she sees that we are coming in because Z and I are her favorites. I love when we hear that. People tell us that all the time. The secret? He is my BEST friend and we have each other's backs 100%. Sidebar, yes, but in all of the relationships I have been in this one is different because we are such good friends. So, secret to success people... Consider this my free advice.... :) Anyway, She shoots him in one leg, and then in the other. I see him tense up, straighten out, and turn red from holding in his cry. He lets out a big wail and then she hands him to me and he looks at me like, "Hey mom! That wasn't too bad!" SERIOUSLY??? I was prepared for World War Three and he cries worse when he is hungry! My Jude, a little champion. God, I love this kid.

Day One Hundred and Seventy: Myriad Gardens

I have not been to the Myriad Botanical Gardens since 2005 and BOY! It has changed! We had our play date there yesterday and it was an absolute blast! So nice! The gardens outside, the playground, everything. Get it, OKC! We are starting to look like a real city! So proud!

Day One Hundred and Sixty Nine: FATHERS DAY!!

We have waited sooooo long to have our first Mothers/Fathers Day, so I had to make it special! I have been working on it for weeks and it was wonderful! It started with homemade waffles and bacon, at daddy's request, and then Jude showed him the video he made. I was crying hysterically, while my husband was teary-eyed. I cannot believe we are where we are. This is the happiest we have ever been. It is amazing how all of a sudden nothing else matters. Anyway, after the video we played a little and I started preparing lunch. I grilled cheese and bacon stuffed hamburgers for Z, a plain one for mom, and a hot dog for me. We had grilled corn, Nacho Cheese Doritos (per Z's request) and my mom made beans. I also ordered a cookie cake with the Superman shield to go along with our theme. Oh, and we had DAD'S root beer... because that is only appropriate! Sidebar, our yard looks so bad we could be cited. My husband would never give up on thinking he was going to mow. Finally thanks to my mom by way of Russell, she got him weekly lawn service for the summer for Fathers Day. He didn't even resist! Ha! I knew he would give in! :) Then he opened his Fathers Day card, which is the Cutest. Thing. Ever. I so wish I could show pics. I bought a bunch of different superhero t-shirts and took Jude's pictures in them. The card has about 10 different pictures (thank you, Shutterfly) in it and the BEST is while Jude was in his Spiderman shirt, he was scrunching his nose giving "tough" faces and it was PRECIOUS! Z said it was his favorite thing on Fathers Day BY FAR! He is such a cutie! Our sweet little family of 3. CAN'T. GET. ENOUGH.

Day One Hundred and Sixty Eight: Norman Shower

Saturday was my shower in Norman. It was so wonderful to see all of my "Second Mothers" and spend some time surrounded by love. It was a lovely day. There was a problem with the invitations so some didn't get the invite until the Wednesday before the shower! Shows how loved Jude is, only 3 out of 20 didn't make it with that short of notice! We are BLESSED!

Day One Hundred and Sixty Seven: All About the Hubs

Since this was my husband's First Fathers Day, my mother was all stressed out about what to get him. She got him a practical gift, but also wanted to get him something special. Luckily, Jay Wilkinson, son of Bud Wilkinson (who my dad played for at OU) wrote a book that revolved around letters to his father. He happened to be at On A Whim signing books on Friday, so we went and had one signed for my husband wishing him a Happy FIRST Fathers Day! Here he is with it; pretty excited!

Day One Hundred and Sixty Six: Thunder Up!

Thursday night we went over to the Staffords' house to Thunder Up. Jude got a new little chair that he loves to sit in and it is PRECIOUS! Unfortunately, we have decided that all 6 of us together at the Staffords = jinx and losing. No more parties at the Staffords... ;)

Day One Hundred and Sixty Five: End of the Road

We have completed our final home study and signed the petition for adoption! FINGERS CROSSED he will be legally ours in about 30 days! I cannot wait for that day in the courtroom! I am considering hiring a professional photographer to capture the moment because I know we will be so overwhelmed. Hmmm.....

Day One Hundred and Sixty Four: THUNDER UP!

Tuesday, we went to lunch with Sharon (who has been in China for over 2 weeks) and then stopped in my office to visit. I was planning a quick 30 mins-1 hour visit, but it turned into 4! As we all know, the Oklahoma City Thunder are in the finals and Oklahoma City has Thunder Fever! As such, my office was "Thundering Up" and everyone was wearing beards. When we got there, they made one for Jude and it is THE. CUTEST. THING. EVER. It is hard to see b/c obviously, I have to cover his face. The Staffords came over to watch the game and we had delicious Thunder cupcakes! Yum!

Day One Hundred and Sixty Three: Playdate with the Brinlees!

Monday we met Hilary and Mason for lunch. It was so nice to get out and talk to a friend I haven't seen in a while. We went to Old School Bagel (he local hangout) :) and it was DELICIOUS! Top it off with some Fro Yo, and the date was perfect. Mason will one day be Jude's GREAT friend. He was so sweet with him, look:

Day One Hundred and Sixty Two: Say it LOUD and PROUD

So, I will admit... a friend got me HOOKED on Fifty Shades of Grey. I know all the controversy about it and how it is borderline X-rated, blah, blah, blah. Sure, it is racy. Sure, it talks about sex. Hello, we are all married adults. NO! It is NOT appropriate for teens!!! Regardless of all the hoopla around it, the plot is AMAZING! I have almost finished the trilogy in less than 5 days. Whatevs. :)

Day One Hundred and Sixty One: Infant Thunder Gear

We have looked ALL OVER OKLAHOMA CITY to find some infant OKC Thunder gear and cannot find ANY! Everything starts at 18-24 months! Ughh!!!!!!

After a trip to Blue Seven, we settled for this cute guy who is now in the nursery!
It's paper mache! Neat, huh?

Day One Hundred and Sixty: Auntie Jan!

My aunt came to visit from Chicago! It was such a nice time. I am so glad that Jude got to meet her. On Friday, we took her to Pops and the Big Red Barn in Arcadia. A little nostalgia. Sad she's gone, but looking forward to seeing her in November!

Day One Hundred and Fifty Nine: Daycare!

We got great news on Thursday! Jude has been accepted into daycare at my husband's work! It is state-of-the-art, so we are PUMPED! We took a tour of it and it was so nice. The staff was uber friendly and put us at ease. He starts August 20th. They have an app for your iPhone that will allow you to keep up with their daily activities! AWESOME! Look how fun the building is!

Day One Hundred and Fifty Eight: ZOO!

For our weekly play date on Wednesday, we went to the Zoo. Unfortunately, it rained 90% of the day so we left early. Little cuties... they love the outdoors!

Day One Hundred and Fifty Seven: Announcements

I am SOOO excited that Jude's birth announcements are in! Kalee Ridings, a personal friend and FANTASTIC photographer did them for us and we are in LOVE with them! We can't decide if we want to wait and send them once he is legally ours or do it now.... decisions, decisions....

Check Kalee out, if you are looking for a photographer!

Day One Hundred and Fifty Six: Girls Day Out

Monday we had a fun day out with the girls. Well, as Kynli pointed out, it wasn't a REAL girls day because Creed (her 2 y/old brother) and Jude were there. She is hilarious. We went shopping, had yogurt and just had fun. Look at her posing while Jude is passed out!

Day One Hundred and Fifty Five: June 3rd.

June 3rd is a special day in our life. Here is why:

  1. June 3, 2004- First time my husband told me he loved me.

  1. June 3, 2005 - The night we got engaged.

  1. June 3, 2006 - Was supposed to be our wedding date, but we had to move it to May 20th due to my husband's family's wheat harvesting.

  1. June 3, 2012- Jude is ours! Today marks the 30 days from birthmother's termination of rights! WOW! It has flown by! Do you know what that means for you? SOON, you will get to see the most precious face in the world! We just need to get in front of that judge and make it legal!

SO, Praise the Lord for June 3rd!

Day One Hundred and Fifty Four: Jude is LOVED.

Saturday was the Watonga shower, and as expected it was amazing. It was done in sock monkeys and totally cute.  There was a old fashioned popcorn machine and cotton candy maker! Seriously??? Awesome. I LOVE cotton candy. There was so much love put into it and it was everything I could ask for and more. Boy, this little boy is loved...

Day One Hundred and Fifty Three: Getting Ready to Party!

Tomorrow is Jude's Watonga shower, and I know it will be awesome. Today I have been preparing and assembling Thank You/Hostess gifts. I think these turned out cute!

Day One Hundred and Fifty Two: 5 Letter Word

Colic. The word parents hate to hear... Jude has been upset the same time every night for the past 2 weeks. I called the doctor, thinking it might be due to his constipation and unfortunately heard this: COLIC! Nooooo!!!!!

Day One Hundred and Fifty One: Lazy Day

Everyone in the family was exhausted Wednesday, thanks to being up late Tuesday night. My husband stayed home and we had a lazy day. Even Bo was exhausted....

Day One Hundred and Fifty: Storm Warning!

Tuesday night was a mess. There were hail storms like mad, and even tornadoes. We decided to all bundle up at my mother's house because our home was in the direct path. Me, the hubs, Bo, Jude, and mom in her guest bath. It was nuts! We made sure we got a picture of Jude's first tornado!
