Day Fifty Nine: Mary Kay

Tonight I hosted a friend's Mary Kay party. We drank white wine sangria, and had snacks. Good times with good friends.

Day Fifty Seven: OSCARS!

This is what we will be doing tonight! Watching the Oscars! I can't wait to see who everyone is wearing, and who will win the big awards! I am also super excited that Billy Crystal is hosting again. I wanted to see The Artist, but my husband didn't think he could sit through a silent film. We have seen most of the other movies, though, so at least we can follow along!

Day Fifty Six: Wedding Fun!

Tonight we went to a wedding reception celebrating a friend who got married in December. It was at the Harn Homestead, and it included a band, BBQ, and boots. It was vintage rock-a-billy and we all had a fun time!

Tonight we hosted a game night at our house with our friends. Good times!

Day Fifty Four: Book Club

Tonight I hosted a Mardi Gras themed Book Club meeting at my house. We reviewed the Hunger Games - Catching Fire (book 2) and had Jambalaya and Hurricanes. YUM!

So today I got my new glasses in.

I have been wearing them for over 3 hours, and I am still not acclimated... Uh oh...

Day Fifty: New Home?

Today we went to a few open houses with our friends. I think we have decided to put our house on the market, and see what we can find... I think.... We also got to have dinner with our favorite 3 month old! What a fun day!

Day Forty Nine: Sad Day

Today we went to a funeral for my husband's cousin.

Memorial service for Teresa, 50, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Freedom School Auditorium. Arrangements by Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva.
Teresa was born Oct. 14, 1961, in Haysi, Va., to Annette (Hay) and George Sjostrom and died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Stroud Regional Medical Center.





Her sarcastic sense of humor will be missed!

Day Forty Eight: FlatTire

Tonight we went to dinner with the Brinlee's. The best part was sharing these yummy s'mores with Mason!

Day Forty Seven: DONE!

I am SO done with my party in my state! Come on, Oklahoma Republicans!!! We are smarter than this! I, as a strong believer in Pro-life, am APPALLED by this new legislation that we are trying to pass. One, it is RIDICULOUS because it is unconstitutional, so we will waste taxpayers dollars to "pass" this law that will be overturned. Two, you (my party) would rather me risk my health if I have another ectopic pregnancy than destroy a pregnancy that has no chance at life. We all know that I would rather lose a limb than abort a child, but one that cannot even thrive? Seriously? Look at this picture and tell me there is a chance:

Tonight I am embarrassed to be an Oklahoma Republican.

Day Forty Six: A GREAT Attempt

So my husband wanted to surprise me for Valentine's Day with my favorite meal ever from a place called Katz's Deli in NYC. Unfortunately, due to weather, it got delayed at the airport, so when we got it tonight the meal had spoiled. He got his money back, but he was so disappointed. Such a sweet thought, though!

Today we went to Picasso to celebrate my dear friend Chelsey's birthday!We had a nice brunch with Bloody Mary's, breakfast, cake, and the cutest little snuggle bug in OKC!

Day Forty Two: Party

Tonight we went to a coworkers husband's 50th Bday party and it was fun! They are also a couple who has adopted (2 sweet babies from Guatemala) and they catered in Big Truck Tacos! Good times!

Day Forty One: Benny

So all of my coworkers go on and on about getting the state card that allows you to take money out of your check each month (tax free) and put it on this card. You can use it for doctors appointments, prescriptions, etc... This year (because we thought we'd have a baby) we decided to do it. So $100 out of my checks to go on this card. Well, I am glad I did it because today my $479.00 glasses were covered by this:

It sucks getting older... I remember when my glasses were easy and cheap... (Sigh)

Tonight we made a fire for the first time this year and it was cozy.

Our "Save the Date" for The Regional Food Bank's yearly fundraiser. It's a Chefs' Feast - Taste of OKC. SO fun!

Day Thirty Five: I'm Getting a Sister!

Well after 34 and 1/2 years, I am finally going to get a sister! My brother-in-law proposed to his girlfriend tonight. We are so excited! Congrats Lance and Anna Ruth! We love you!

Day Thirty Four: Chocolate Class

Tonight I went to a chocolate making class with three girlfriends downtown.


We learned how to make bonbons, truffles, and ganache. The best part was making peanut butter cups in a chocolate bowl. My husband was happy we made enough to bring home!
