Devastation Strikes Again

Well, as usual in our life, we found out yesterday at 3pm that the birthmother has backed out of the adoption. We are absolutely heartbroken and shattered. I can't hate her for changing her mind, but I can hate her for having this baby DAYS AGO and hiding it. Merry Christmas. ~Amy

Oh My Gosh, Can She Just GET Here!!!

So as you recall, in the middle stages of the birth mother's pregnancy, everyone was telling us to prepare for a early baby. Well... As of today, 6 days before her date of arrival, birth mom is still not dilated and has not dropped. I feel like I have a metronome in my head and I can hear every second tick. Really? Really? Really. This baby might not be here until Christmas or AFTER!!! Of course, so happy because she is healthy and we don't have to worry about prematurity, but now I am 4,000 times more stressed than I was before! (Prayers for my husband, please)...

One a side note, after about 5 months of looking, I found my diaper bag. THANK YOU MOM, for the early Christmas gift:

As a woman who loves her bags, this was a big decision. I went back-&-forth and back-&-forth on getting a CAKE bag, but the more and more I looked at them, they are a diaper bag. Clearly and obviously a bag for a baby. I wanted a bag that looked like a woman's bag, but has all the essentials. Well, thank you, Kate Spade, I found it!

Please keep the prayers coming, and we will let you know as soon as we do!!! ~Amy

Counting Down

Well it is officially 11 days until Baby B is here! So excited, nervous, etc... What are we going to do about this guy?:

Yes, he sleeps with us; and yes sometimes right in between us... Sickening, huh? We love him so much. I really hope he adjusts decently...

Anyway, the nursery is complete! Well, except from a wooden flag bunting that I ordered off of Etsy that will hang off of the rack above the end table. That should be here soon, and I will also use that to reveal her name!

So, without further delay, here is the nursery:

The LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED banner was made by my DEAR friend Chelsey. She is amazingly wonderful. LOVE.

The paper flowers we ordered off Etsy, from an idea off of Pinterest. My two new addictions!

And, finally, the rack that Z had in his nursery with the chalkboard on top bearing the Adoption Creed:

Not flesh of my flesh
nor bone of my bone,
but still miraculously my own.

Never forget for a single minute,
that you grew not under my heart,
but in it.

Love it. Gets me teary-eyed every time I read it. Please pray for a safe and healthy journey! ~Amy

It's Almost Time

So today marks 3 weeks until the arrival of Miss Bradt. Several people have asked what the process is, so I am going to make it public! ;)

(For sake of math)... Let's say she is born December 20th

12/20 - Baby is Born
12/30 - Mother can give consent in court (Per the Indian Child Welfare Act, the birthmother has to wait 10 days)
12/31- 1/3 - DHS Home visit # 2
ASAP - We go in front of a judge with the signed consent and then Home Study completed.
We are HOPING that will only take about 5-7 days after consent, so best case scenario Baby Girl would be "ours" by January 6th- January 8th.

Please pray for a quick and positive outcome! It is getting so real, it is hard to concentrate!

Here is the latest view of her room:

We are about 90% done... Now we just need a baby!~Amy
