Cutest Thing Ever!

So Wednesday night we were invited to our first "Gender Reveal" party. (No, not a sex change, a baby sex reveal!) It was funny, because when I told people I was busy Wednesday night, and then told them why, they thought it was for a transformation! Hilarious!

Anyway, our friends Jimmy & Jessica were having a party, and invited us. We were honored! It was the cutest thing... Their friend threw this party at the clubhouse of their apartment, and had a cake made that had icing in the middle in the coordinating color of the baby's gender. I was cracking up because my husband was so nervous! I think he was almost as excited as they were! They had us wear pink or blue, depending on what we thought it was. The Bradt's went in pink... we just KNEW it was a girl, AND we were right!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS, Jenkins Family!! We love you & can't wait to meet your little girl! ~ Amy

The Cubs Win!

So last night, we had our first experience at a 3rd grade softball game. It was INTENSE! Who knew?!?! I have to say, some of the parents got a little crazy! Major competition!! I have to share this cute pic, because I cannot believe how she has grown up! My little niece... Still remembering helping out with her first bath at her "Mae-Mi's" sink!
My husband and I were cracking up (and feeling sad) as the little girls would strike out, or miss a catch, and come off of the field bawling! Poor little things! As "adult" as they try to be, we forget that they are really just little kids that get their feelings hurt soooo easily! So, by the last inning, they were down 6-1. Well, not to brag too much, but with bases loaded, Ms. Alex hit a GREAT hit and sent some batters home! You would have thought she was my daughter the way I was yelling!! Long inning short, they won 7-6! I have Junior League tomorrow night, so I will miss the championship game, but my thoughts are with them! They play Z's boss' daughter's team.... Uh, oh! ;) ~Amy

Happy Father's Day!

What a weekend! It was really fun! We started off by having dinner with our friends, Russ & Sarah. If anyone is ever sad, call me and I will give you their number. Russ is one of the funniest people I have ever met. It's always a laugh around him. We went to Flattire and had burgers and Blue Moon. I think that might be my new favorite beer. As if that wasn't enough, we ended the night with smores that you make at your table! How cute?
Saturday we got up, took Bo to see his favorite doctor (Jarrod) and then ran errands. We were out ALL day! We bought new bricks for a landscaping project (soil, flowers, and all) and by the time we got home, we were exhausted!

Today, we started off at 7am outside to complete the landscaping. We were out there until 1pm! Woo ~ We were tired! Did I mention Z's new sprinkler that my mom bought him in Canton? Well here it is:

It is the COOLEST thing I have ever seen! We love it! You just hook it up and go! Wonderful! For Father's Day, the in-laws came over and my husband grilled. For dessert, we had grilled pound cake with pineapple in a dark rum reduction sauce... The problem is, we didn't have rum! Since liquor stores are closed on Sunday, we had to use Vanilla Extract. Not bad, but the rum would have been better!! ;) Happy Father's Day! ~Amy

I'm Afraid to Say What Else!!

Ok... so first was the snow storm, then the tornadoes, then the hail and now the RAIN! I'm afraid to see what Mother Nature has left for us!

I left my house this morning, on time, and headed to work. Usually, it is about a 20 minute drive.... Well, not today. Today, after taking many detours since several roads were closed due to flooding, I made it in about 1 hour late. Once arriving to my office, total chaos began. We work in an old building, that needs to be condemned... Our roof collapses and water started pouring in on our office, which caused flooding, wires hanging down, and the electricity flickering on and off. Luckily for us, our CEO is awesome and decided about 10am that the office was considered hazardous and let us leave on administrative leave. The problem? All Oklahoma City highways were closed, and local streets were closed due to floods. Awesome. We were all stuck at the office for hours waiting for the rain to leave! What a day!

Reason Number 1,293 Why My Husband Rocks...

So I just wanted to share this....

My great-grandfather was a US Senator, and a rather honored one. He was on the front line of passing the 40 hour work week and other labor laws. He died before I was born, but people always say we favor. Anyway, I have a lot of really neat memorabilia about him, books written on him, etc... My husband, however found this Time cover and ordered one to surprise me:

How cool is my husband? Just thought I'd share! ~Amy

Hair Bows, and Tutu's, and Bedazzles, Oh My!

So this weekend, we decided to go to Canton. For those who do not know what Canton is, it is the largest craft show/antique/flea market in the U.S. It is 28 miles of shopping. They have a little bit of everything, and we only saw about 1/8th of it! It was an experience, that is for sure. My mother-in-law felt a little sick, so we left before we could make it to the antiques... and to be honest, that was OK. I could only handle about 1 more ridiculously over sized baby hair bow before I puked. I just do not get it! YUCK! They did have a little something for everyone.... Who would buy this?!?
Anyway, once we got back (LATE Friday night) my husband's uncle called to tell us it was time for harvest. My husband loves to farm. We have already decided that if we ever hit it big, we will retire early and he will farm in his retirement. He just loves it. We went out to his grandparents house in Thomas so we could help out. No, my helping out wasn't in the field, I stayed at the house and babysat grandma. I did get to drive grandpa's new truck, and I have to say I felt like a tough girl! Who knew trucks could be so fun?
After being gone since May 20th, we are looking forward to a BORING weekend at home this weekend, that is FOR SURE! ~Amy
