Night Night!

So this is what I get every night before I go to sleep...
First it is the look, then the 1,000 kisses and then the new thing is literally rubbing his face all over mine. It is nuts! I am not sure what he is thinking!

I feel like I haven't blogged in FOREVER! Why? Nothing has been going on! Let's see... Still no car; our yard is a HOT mess due to weeds that keep coming back; my husband is in a trial all week, so we barely see each other and I'm still traveling all over the state for work. Boring, huh?

Speaking of my husband in a trial all week, we have tickets to Montgomery Gentry (the only country band I like besides the ZBB) and if the jury is still deliberating on Friday late afternoon, he probably won't be going. Boo. Let's all hope for a speedy decision... AND a win!! The concert is at a casino in El Reno. I'm not sure when El Reno decided to charge so much for tickets, and to be honest I was quite surprised! Worth it, though; they are a great band.

Baby Lola Jane is here! Yeah!!! I hope to go to Chicago soon to see that little chunky monkey! She weighed over 9lbs! Absolutely precious and I want to pinch those cheeks! Hopefully, I will post a picture soon so you can see her for yourself. Cute, cute, cute!

Thanks for all the prayers, by the way, my father is home from the hospital and taking it easy. I am not sure if they are going to start his chemo again for a while, so hopefully the cancer takes a break!

Can you guys believe this about Sandra & Jessie? One day that tattooed mess will wake up and realize he is a moron. I wonder what is wrong with men like that... There has to be deep issues, because he is TOO old to be behaving like this! Yes, I said that and it sounded like I am 90... Have a good weekend! ~Amy

33 Here I Come!

So my birthday came and went, and I feel a year older. I was so looking forward to resting on my birthday, but when Saturday came, my husband decided to take me to Dallas. So needless to say,

PLUS

makes for a HAPPY HAPPY birthday! Our friends Jeremy & Kim went with us, and that always makes for a good time. Tonight my in-laws and brother-in-law came over and we went out to dinner and had birthday cake to make it official. What a great time! This rain, however, can go ahead and leave Oklahoma. Doesn't it make you just want to stay in bed?

Our mission for April is to buy a new car. At first, we were going to trade in the Tahoe and get a new one, but now I think that it should be the Honda first. My husband likes to refer to it as the "G0-Kart:. He puts almost 100 miles a day on that car, so we should probably sell it now while it is still worth something. Any suggestions of a car that we should get? It is so hard!

My dad is in the hospital again, so all prayers are welcomed! He had to have an emergency surgery because he had a - get this- GRAPEFRUIT sized blood clot in his bladder. Isn't that insane? He is doing well and they are hoping he will be released tomorrow. Bless his heart... if it is not one thing, it is another.

Everyone have a wonderful week - Ugh! It's Monday!!! ~Amy

Today Was the Day My Heart Almost Stopped...

Today was a great day, right? Why not go out and clean out the flowerbeds, preparing for this springs plantings... Well, I'll tell you why... I SAW A SNAKE!!! I about died right on the spot. I freaked out and apparently yelled so loud that my mother came out of my house to see what was wrong and my husband wanted to know which teenage girl neighbor was making so much noise.... After I collected myself, I tried to explain that it wasn't that big, and I was OK. My husband went and got the shovel and killed it. Here it is:

I know what all of you are thinking... "I can barely see it!" Let me tell you though, when it slithered out of nowhere, and I was not prepared, it might as well have been a python. Once we were finished with the yard, my husband came in to watch the Masters. I don't get it. I like golf, but I cannot watch a tournament until the last hour, or so. BORING! We are laughing because God knew what he was doing taking my grandmother before this Tiger scandal. She would have been all over this and we would still be hearing about it. (She was a big fan of Tiger...)

Good news/bad news of the day is that I got really sunburned. Good news because I only burn once a season, thus the Dominican should treat me well. Bad news, I have a weird red/white combo on my arm, and it is only on my right side. Sweet.

Friday, I had the day off and went to lunch with Z's high school friend D'Andra. After lunch we went to this new "all-green" baby store. Listen to what I bought... A book about a couple that went a full year without buying anything made in China. I can't wait to read it. I think we will start that on my b-day and try to make it all year. This is right up my alley.... you know how I boycott Walmart! I'll let everyone know what I find out! ~Amy

8 Days Until the Double Tres

I cannot believe that in 8 days, I will be 33... I remember when I was a little girl and my dad and I were driving down Main Street in Norman. There was a girl, probably 16 or 17, in a red Mustang convertible stopped at the red light next to us. I looked at my dad and was like, "I'm sooooo ready to be like her." He turned to me and said, "Honey, you need to slow down and enjoy your childhood because as you get older, time flies." I thought - WHATEVER!!! Now, that is the memory that stands out the most. Every year goes by quicker and quicker... 33... Really? I still feel like a kid!
Speaking of, we were in Watonga for Easter and my husband's 2 young cousins were there. We put on an Easter egg hunt in my in-laws backyard and hid eggs. We put a TON of candy in the eggs and some were Warheads. (I think that is what they are called.... SUPER sour?!?) Anyway, Nick started betting me that I could not put a certain number in my mouth and hold it for 60 seconds. Nonetheless, the number finally got to 5. I was not going to back down on a bet, by gosh, so I did it. Looking back, that was about 8 minutes of my life I can't get back. I cannot explain what it was like... Lucky for me, Nick grabbed my camera and took a million pictures of the event, to where if you show it on a slide show, it looks like one of those flip books you make to look like your object is moving. Great.... Here is one of the beauties...

Pretty, right?

So today is my Friday off, and I was looking forward to sleeping in. Well, when you have a 30 pound dog that sleeps with you, it doesn't happen. We get up every morning to dog licks in the face, and today was no different. At least this will prepare us for an infant. We are sleep deprived...

Well here is big news...the surprise 30th birthday for my husband is out.... I am taking him to the place he wants to go, 2nd runner up to Heaven..... FENWAY PARK!!!! Happy 30th, Presh- we are going to Boston! He is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited! Those who know my little cuteness know he LOVES the Red Sox, and Fenway Park to him is equivalent to a Neiman Marcus shoe sale with an unlimited cash flow for me! The Brinlee's are thinking of going with us...... ARE YOU READING THIS JEFF???? BOOK THE TICKETS NOW!!!........ I really hope they go. I love sports, don't get me wrong, and am looking forward to the Fenway tour, but I really want my husband to experience the game with someone else but me. 9 innings is a long time.

To end today's blog, I have some really sad news and am asking for everybody's prayers. My husband's fellow attorney has a BFF from college that he was in the frat with. We have met him and his wife once, and they are a precious couple. He went to OSU, she went to OU, we had that in common. Anyway, they struggled with infertility and finally got pregnant. 3 weeks ago today, she gave birth to a healthy little boy, however this perfectly healthy woman ended up needing emergency surgery after the birth where she coded on the table 3 times. She ended up having postpartum cardiomyopathy, a thing that happens to 1/4,000 healthy, non-symptomatic pregnant women. Long story short, they are almost positive she is now brain dead, and her husband is going to have to make the decision of what to do. Heartbreaking. I don't know this girl well, but feel like I had a connection to her due to infertility. It's weird how women can bond through things like that. Anyway, as expected her husband is lost and so devastated. I am asking for everyone to pray for peace and a healthy future for baby Will. Thanks. ~Amy

The little things in life that can make you so happy!! On another note, here is something that does not make me happy. Apparently, when you google my husband's name, our blog pops up. We know this because someone that he has been working with told us, thank goodness!!! Not that he is a rock star, but it is probably not the best idea for clients, opposing counsel, etc... to know all about his life. Therefore, I have been going back through ALL of our blogs (170+) and changing his name to "my husband" or "us" or "Z" or "he"... you get the idea! I worked on it for 1 1/2 hours yesterday while the floors were getting installed and got through May 2009... yikes...

I got sweet baby Gavin's birth announcement in the mail today. Even though I was with Magan when we designed them, I forgot how cute they are AND more importantly how precious he is. Sweet little bundle of cuteness!

Have I mentioned how sick I am about talking about health care reform? P-U-K-E! I cannot tell you my true feelings about this, since that is my employer!!! (Ha!) But, really America?!?!? One of the carpet guys was asking us if we knew that our president used to be a CIA informant for the "Tall-E-ban" and that he speaks "Muslim." I didn't know that was a language! ;) Bottom line, here is what bugs the living snot (to say it nicely) about this whole thing regardless of your feelings on the subject.... Please know what you are talking about, and have actual proof (like the law, not hearsay) before you go around saying stuff.... Ignorance spreads like a disease, people!!! Not that I am a blue bleeding liberal that likes the president, or anything, but I would like to know that what I am saying is the actual truth and not the media's propaganda trying to poison... yeah, I said poison.... our brains. If only I was president.... ;) The most refreshing thought, we will be in the Dominican before we know it! Thank you, Jesus! We are sooooooooooooooooooo ready! ~Amy
